LANGUNE companies showcase their latest developments at #tecnoling2016
In September this year, 2016, several LANGUNE companies took part in the first Exhibition of Technology and Language Applications (TecnoLing-2016) within the setting of the 22nd Congress of the Spanish Society for Natural Language Processing (SEPLN) and the 5th Spanish Conference of Computer Science (CEDI) held in Salamanca
TecnoLing-2016 was organised to present the latest advances and innovations in the language industry.
CEDI was attended by almost 1000 delegates. The exhibition involved 17 organisations (companies, universities and research centres) that design, develop and market advanced products and services within the framework of language technologies (Machine Translation, Reputation Management, Dialogue Systems or Conversational Agents, Text Data Mining, Automatic Summarisation, Language Processing Chains, etc.), with industrial applications for businesses and public administrations across the board (Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Media, Tourism, Justice, Education, Security, etc.).

- Serikat: Jose Luis Bacigalupe, project manager, and Iñigo Zayas, business director.
- Grupo IXA (UPV/EHU): Rodrigo Agerri, researcher, and German Rigau, permanent teacher.
- Vicomtech-IK4: Thierry Etchegoyhen, researcher, and Xabier Garcia de Kortazar, technology transfer department
- Ibermatica: Aitor Moreno, department Manager
- MondragonLingua was represented by Ane Ruiz de Zárate, head of the Translation&Communication division, and Manuel de Pascua, head of Operations.
- Elhuyar: Josu Aztiria, department manager, and Xabier Saralegui, "text" manager.
The event was attended by David Pérez Fernández, from the Office of the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and the Information Society (SETSI) and promoter of the Plan for the Advancement of Language Technologies. The event was also attended by numerous managers and experts from Spain’s Central Government - the Administración General del Estado (AGE)- and the country’s regions - the Autonomous Communities (CCAAs)- interested in gaining first-hand knowledge of the potential currently provided by Language Technologies.
